Our Staff

Each of the staff members at Ellis Funeral Home is committed to providing your family with the finest in personal care. In fact, for years, it’s been comforting for area families to know that we are available to help at any time of the day or night.

When a loved one dies, all you need to do is make one phone call. From that moment on, we’ll take on the responsibilities of the physical care of your loved one, and the emotional care of those left behind.

Todd W. Ellis, Owner

Todd W. Ellis has lived in Muleshoe, Texas all of his life. He grew up in a family owned Funeral Business established in 1959 when his parents Frank H. Ellis and Sally Ellis moved to Muleshoe to take over the management of the Funeral Home there. Todd graduated from Muleshoe High School. He attended South Plains College and West Texas State University before obtaining a Mortuary Science degree from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. Todd became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1984. Todd and his wife Starla became owners in Ellis Funeral Home Inc. and Ellis and Sons Inc. in 1988. Todd is a past president of the Panhandle Funeral Directors Assn. and was selected the Panhandle Funeral Director of the year in 1998-1999. He has also served on the Texas Funeral Directors Assn. Board in Austin, Texas. Todd also served a term as the Vice President of the Texas Funeral Directors Services Inc. Board. He currently serves on TFDA’s Disaster Committee.  

Todd served his County as Justice Of The Peace in Bailey County for Eighteen years. He served his Country as Commander of The National Disaster Medical Systems Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team in Region VI of the United States for 12 years and has been active in working disasters in the United States since 1993. 

Todd is a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe and the Muleshoe Rotary Club.
Todd and his wife Starla have dedicated their lives to continuing the family tradition of service to the Families of Muleshoe, Morton, Earth, Sudan, and the surrounding areas. 

Starla Ellis, Owner

Starla has lived in Muleshoe all of her life, and is the daughter of Ronnie and Donna Black. She married Todd in 1983, and has ever since been a part of the funeral business. They have two children and two granddaughters. Colt Ellis his wife Leslie and their daughter Bentlee, and Dusty Clayton his wife Lindsey and their daughter Collins. She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. She works at the funeral home with her husband and son helping when the need arises.

Colt B. Ellis, Vice President / Manager

Colt is a license funeral director and embalmer. He is the son of Todd and Starla, and a lifetime resident of the Muleshoe community. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 2008, and attended West Texas A&M University for a couple of years. While working on a finance degree at West Texas he decided to pursue a career in the funeral industry with his family. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2011, and has since been home working with his parents. Colt was elected to the Muleshoe City Council in 2013. He also serves on the Muledays and Kickin’ Nights committee through the Muleshoe Country Club to help, annually fund, our local Meals on Wheels program. As well as serving on the Bailey County Appraisal District Board, the Economic Development Corporation Board, The Texas Funeral Directors Association Board, and he serves as Past President of the Panhandle Funeral Directors Association Board. He is a member of the Texico-Farwell Rotary Club. Colt is also a member of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife Leslie, and step - daughter, Bentlee. Leslie works full time for a local Farm Credit Agency, and Bentlee is a very active Kindergartner, who loves Piano and Ballet. 

James Rincones, Funeral Director

James was born and raised in the small West Texas town of Levelland, Texas. After graduating from Levelland High School in 2004, he went on to work for his first funeral home one week later. It was there that his love for the funeral service profession grew. James has roughly thirteen years of funeral home/funeral directing and crematory operating experience. He attended Amarillo College's Mortuary Science program, and graduated in December of 2021. James successfully passed State Board Exam in 2022, and received his Funeral Director's License from the State of Texas.  He became part of the Ellis Funeral Homes family in June of 2021, where he will cultivate a long-lasting career between their four locations. James has been married to his loving wife, Chelsea (Meyers) Rincones, since December of 2019. Chelsea is an BSN, RN, with UMC in Lubbock, and actively attends UT Arlington for her FNP. They have two sons, Kaden Zane and Brexton James. The Rincones family are residents of Muleshoe as of January 2022. They are extremely excited for the change of scenery, and to get back to the small, hometown lifestyle and amazing families of Muleshoe and surrounding communities.


Kelly Quisenberry,  Funeral Assistant

Kelly is a lifetime resident of the Springlake - Earth community. She and her husband Danny live in Earth. They have two children and two grandchildren. Kelly graduated from Springlake - Earth High School, South Plains College, and Texas Tech University. She is a member of the Earth Church of Christ. Kelly came to work at Ellis Funeral Homes in March of 2014. She is considering obtaining her Funeral Directors license in the future.

Lori Bales, Administrative Assistant

Lori has been with Ellis Funeral Homes since June 2013. She has lived in Muleshoe since 1986. She is married to Kem Bales, a Muleshoe native. They have two children, Tanner and his wife, Jessica and Bailey, and two grandchildren. Lori attended Texas Tech University. She and her family are members of the First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe.

Andre Lynn, Funeral Director / Embalmer

Andre graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1975, and has been with Ellis Funeral Home since 2000. He loves the funeral industry and has a total of 37 years of experience. He considered Frank H. Ellis a great friend and a great funeral director. Since working for the funeral home the Ellis family has been like family to him, and really enjoys working for such a family oriented company.

Pat Weber, Receptionist / Funeral Assistant

Pat has work for the funeral home since 2007. She is married to Raymond D. Weber, and they have 2 daughters Christy and Amanda. She is a lifelong resident of Cochran County, and a graduate of Whiteface High School. They are members of the First Baptist Church in Whiteface.
