Linda died December 16, 2014 in Morton. She was born August 6, 1947 in Levelland, Texas to Horrace Doc and Frankie (Mills) Long. She married Bill Huckabee in Cochran County on July 17, 1969.

Linda was a lifelong member of the Morton community. She worked as a dispatcher in Cochran County from 1974 until 1981. She then worked in the Cochran County Tax office from 1981 to 2012, serving as the Tax Assessor/Collector for eleven of those years. Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1997; her parents; and one sister, Erma Williams.


Survivors include, three sons, Brian Huckabee of Calumet, Oklahoma, Bradley Huckabee and his wife, Wendy of Levelland, Texas and Josh Huckabee and his wife, Terry of Morton, Texas; five grandsons, Zachary Josh, Brandon, Brent, David Jacob, and Tristan and two granddaughters, Brittney and Cheyenne; and four great-grandchildren.
