Obituary for Mary Carolyn Meador (Hammitt)

Mary Carolyn  Meador (Hammitt)
Mary Carolyn (Hammitt) Meador, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Thursday, December 25th after a lengthy illness. Mary graduated from Eunice, New Mexico High School in 1957, and attended Eastern New Mexico in Portales, New Mexico, where she met and later married Adrian Meador. They were married 55 years, where they lived in Aztec, Tucumcari, Edgewood and Jemez Springs, New Mexico and Muleshoe, Texas. Mary enjoyed walking in the forest, camping, canning, cooking, quilting, sewing, playing the piano, gardening and nature. Mary carried a special grace about her, and was a kind and nurturing soul. She lived well, she loved well and she walked with the Lord. She was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Adrian Meador of Muleshoe, Texas; a son, Brian and his wife, Laurie Meador of Las Cruces, New Mexico; a daughter, Charise and her husband Kenny VanCuren of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Erik and his wife, Stephanie VanCuren, Katie VanCuren, Hallie Meador and Taylor Meador; a brother, Robert and his wife, Sandy Hammitt of Plano, Texas; and a sister, Sharon and her husband, Kenneth Bryant of Stephenville, Texas. Cremation has taken place and Mary will be laid to rest in Gordon, Texas Cemetery, next to her parents. The family would like to thank the kindness of the caregivers at Harmonee House, and Dr. Molina, other physicians and nurses at Lamb Healthcare Center during her extended stay.
