Sharlee died January 2, 2015 in Muleshoe. She was born April 12, 1946 in Chandern, Nebraska to Charlie and Dorthy (Maple) Shumway. She married Allen Huggins in Cheyenne, Wyoming on October 15, 1993.

Sharlee served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include her husband, Allen; one son, Michael Caban of Gilbert, Arizona; one grandchild, Michael Dawn Stricklind; one great-grandchild, Harley Alice Stricklind; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
