Vera died May 9, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born March 6, 1944 in Oakland, California to Edward and Mildred (Miner) Gibson. She married Joe Bledsoe in Clovis, New Mexico on September 7, 1990.

Vera worked at the Allsup’s home office in Clovis for many years and retired in 2009. She was currently working at the Parmer County Soil Conservation Office in Farwell. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Muleshoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one granddaughter.

Survivors include, her husband, Joe; one son, Mike Brewer and his wife, Stephenie of St. Louis, Missouri; two step-sons, Keith Bledsoe of Moriarty, New Mexico and Darian Bledsoe of Clovis, New Mexico; one daughter, Debbie Underwood and her husband, Eric of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Lynn Thompson of Clovis, New Mexico; a brother, Dell Sanders and his wife, Anita of Alamogordo, New Mexico; a nephew, Rusty Sanders and his wife, Cindy of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren.
