June died May 28, 2015 in Muleshoe. She was born February 12, 1929 in Vernon, Texas to Andy and Opal (Carpenter) Thompson. She married Lynn Smith in Castro County, Texas on February 14, 1946. He passed away in 1963. She married Tip McNeill in Levelland, Texas on September 26, 1981. He passed away in 2003.

June moved to Muleshoe from Levelland in 1963. She was an LVN for 35 years, working in Lubbock and Muleshoe. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Muleshoe. June was preceded in death by her first husband, Lynn Smith; her second husband, Tip McNeill; her daughter, Diane Copley; her parents; and her sister, Lelda Ann Harbert.

Survivors include her son, Dennis Smith and his wife, Margie of Cookville, Tennessee; her daughter, Debra Ivey and her husband, Billy Don of Porter, Texas; her son-in-law, Don Copley of Muleshoe; a sister, Andrea Kay Kemp of Albuquerque, New Mexico; fourteen grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
