Clara Mae died June 27, 2015 in Olton. She was born May 15, 1921 in Paducah, Texas to Frank and Alice Vaughn. She later moved to Amherst, Texas where she met the love of her life Wallace O. "Buzzy" Jones. They married in Earth, Texas in 1939 and began their life together on the farm.

Clara Mae was active in the community and Methodist Church, where she led the youth group, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school for many years. She adored young people and inspired many of them toward successful futures. Clara Mae valued her family above all else, and dedicated her life to making her home a haven of love and acceptance. She was an exceptional cook, and spent countless hours creating delicious holiday meals for her loved ones. She is remembered as a loving mother with a gentle soul and giving heart. Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband Buzzy on January 11th, 1998. She was also preceded by her parents, 1 granddaughter Lezlee Garza, and 1 sister Gladys Sulser.

Her survivors include a son, Dean Jones and wife Judith, of Earth, a daughter, Karen Haley and husband Chuck, of Lubbock, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
