Chris died Monday, October 12, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born January 2, 1938 in Happy, Texas to Fred and Ruby (Carmon) Mapes. She married Jack Hodnett in Clovis, New Mexico on January 19, 1957.
Chris loved working with kids as the Threeway ISD librarian, where she worked for 20 years. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed painting pictures. She treasured being a mother and grandmother. Chris is preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 2014; her parents; her sister, Jane Sechrist; and her brother, Lee Mapes.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Hodnett and his wife, Julie of Elk City, Oklahoma and Bill Hodnett and his fiancé, Traleia Wing of Bushland, Texas; a daughter, Shonnee Geissler and her husband, Gregg of Earth, Texas; a sister, Jo Ann Sandefur of Waterflow, New Mexico; and five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Hadlea, Tyler, Jake, and J!Lynn
