Church Service for Norma Jo Prather, Age 79, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park. Norma Jo died October 25, 2015 in Lubbock. She was born November 25, 1935 in Carter, Oklahoma to Joe and Norma (Hart) Combs. She married Donald Prather in Leedey, Oklahoma on August 16, 1957.

Norma Jo moved from Lubbock, Texas to Muleshoe in 1958. She received her degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She taught kindergarten at Muleshoe ISD for 37 years. Norma Jo was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority of Muleshoe and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe where she helped with vacation bible school and many other church activities. Norma Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2010 and her parents.

Survivors include her son, Joe Don Prather and his wife, Pam of Amarillo, Texas; her daughter, Kay Lynn Brantley and her husband Curby of Bovina, Texas; her sister, Dorothy Holcolmb of Leedey, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
