Obituary for Ira F. "Junior" Dallas Jr.

Ira F. "Junior" Dallas Jr.
Junior (Ira F.) Dallas went to live in his heavenly mansion on November 11, 2015 after a lengthy illness with heart and lung disease. Church Service for Junior is scheduled for 2:00 MST, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Central Baptist Church in Clovis with Pastor Alan McAlister and Randy Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery. A family visitation will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM MST, Friday, November 13, at Central Baptist Church in Clovis. There will also be a viewing from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM MST, Saturday, November 14, prior to the service.

Junior was born in Clovis, New Mexico on August 1, 1952 to Ira and Marion (Walradt) Dallas. He spent his early life on the family’s dairy farm, learning to drive a tractor at a very young age. Later he worked with his dad at the local John Deere shop. He met his wife, Glynda Evans, in junior high school, and married her in June of 1973. They began to farm and do custom farm work. Glynda became a nurse and later a nurse practitioner and joined the Air Force. Junior then bought, fixed up, rented and sold properties at all the locations where they were stationed.

Junior accepted the Christ as his savior as a boy while at RA camp. Junior was a servant and a deacon. He loved the Lord and served Him with all his heart and strength, right up until his death. He cared for and ministered to many people. He served alongside so many people whom he grew to love dearly, and waits to greet them as they come to their reward also.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Milton Gollihugh; and two sisters, Peggy Moeller and her husband, Eddie and Shirley Reynolds.

Survivors include his wife, Glynda; his daughter, Jennefier Dudley of Clovis, New Mexico; his son, Steven Dallas and his wife, Samantha of Clovis, New Mexico. He also has eight grandchildren, which were his life’s delight, Kevin, Cayla and Tayler Dallas, Sidney, Brianna and Delanie Dallas, Craig Ray and Anton Goins. He is also survived by one sister, Sharon (Ray) Cavett of Clovis, New Mexico; and F.H., Elmo and Hayden Smith, his special brothers.

Pall bearers will be Travis Denton, George Ratledge, Rusty Galloway, Bert Agnew, Lonnie Leslie and Leon Kelley. Honorary bearers will be all deacons from Central Baptist Church, Baptist Church Builders of Texas and Pioneer Drive Baptist Church deacons and Nehemiah Project workers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to Central Baptist Church Deacon Benevolence Fund, 2501 North Norris Street, Clovis, New Mexico, 88101 or Baptist Children’s Home of New Mexico, 2200 South Avenue I, Portales, New Mexico, 88130. The family wishes to give a special thanks, to PRMC Hospice and especially Hope Moyors.
