Church Service for Leonor F. Self, 83, of Morton, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton with Father Silta S. Santiago of Morton officiating. Rosary will be said at 3:00 PM, Friday, December 25, 2015 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton. Leonor died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born May 3, 1932 in Marfa, Texas to Braulio and Remedio (Astorga) Fuentes. She married Jimmie C. Self in Morton on January 31, 1976.    

Leonor moved from Ruidoso, Texas to Morton in 1957. She loved being around children. Her favorite thing was taking care of other people. She was a nurses’ aid for 35 years, and enjoyed crocheting and playing dominoes. Leonor was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morton. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant child; one sister, Cruz Baeza; and four brothers, Emileo Fuentes, Epiphanio Fuentes, Edward Fuentes and Estevan Fuentes.

Survivors include, her husband, Jimmie; one sister, Andrea Escontrias of Presidio, Texas; five brothers, Luis Fuentes of Levelland, Texas, Jose Angel Fuentes of Hobbs, New Mexico, Cixto Fuentes of Monahans, Texas, Chon Fuentes of Monahans, Texas and Domingo Fuentes of Monahans, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
