Masonic Graveside Service for Alvin Pittman, 82, of Earth, Texas, was held along with a family service at the Beason Family Cemetery in Rochester, Texas. Alvin quietly slipped away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Amherst, Texas after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. He was born May 23, 1933 in Geary, Oklahoma to Denver and Alice (Evans) Pittman. He married Noel Beason in Hamlin, Texas on April 1, 1953. Respects to the family can be made at Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home in Earth on Thursday, March 17, 2016.

Among his many endeavors, Alvin was the City Marshall for the City of Earth for 21 years. He was a former member of the Mason Lodge in Rochester, Texas. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Auvis Pittman and Eugene Pittman; and one sister, Mildred Stubbs.


Alvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Noel; one son, Michael Pittman and his wife, Carrie of Post, Texas; four daughters, Sherry Kelley and her husband, Fred of Roswell, New Mexico, Becky Vinyard and her husband, Rob of Austin, Texas, Debbie Etie and her husband, Rick of Petersburg, Texas and Christie Embry and her husband, Lee of Sudan, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
