Church service for Billy Chester, age 82, of Sudan, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Sudan with Brother Robert Roecker and Brother Mike Woods officiating. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery. Billy died Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Lubbock. He was born March 30, 1934 in Spade, Texas to Earl Wilson and Stella Jane (Billings) Chester. He married Sue Glover in Sudan on December 21, 1952.

Billy was a 1951 graduate of Sudan High School and farmed for many years. He was a Sudan School Board member and a Sudan Co-op Gin Board member. Billy was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed playing dominoes with his buddies and loved watching sports. Billy was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Texas Tech and Sudan Hornets fan. He was a devoted supporter of all his daughters’ and grandchildren’s activities. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gwen West and a beloved grandson, Timothy Lee Graves.

Billy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sue; his two daughters, Tanya Masten and her husband, Dale of Aztec, New Mexico and Terry Graves and her husband, Terry of Littlefield, Texas; his three grandchildren, Brad Masten, Ryan Masten and Staci Heineman; and his six great-grandchildren, Madison Masten, Brett Masten, Eli Masten, Grace Masten, Abram Masten and Johnny Heineman.
