Obituary for Loreta Gregory (Truelock)
Church service for Loreta Gregory, age 91, of Earth, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, January 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Earth with Ryan Smallwood of Wolforth, Texas and Robbie Boyd of Earth, Texas officiating. Burial will be in Earth Cemetery. Loreta died Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born July 21, 1925 in Paducah, Texas to LeRoy and Joe Lee (Goss) Truelock. She married Carl Gregory in Fresno, California on April 8, 1944.
Loreta had moved to the Earth community from California in 1947. She loved spending time with her family and playing dominoes and card games. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earth. Loreta is preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1989; her parents; and a son, Carlton Morris Gregory.
Loreta is survived by her son, Tommy Gregory of Earth, Texas; her five daughters, Carolyne Stephens of Earth, Texas, Diana Carpenter and her husband, Jerry of Earth, Texas, Linda Short and her husband, Phillip of Monet, Missouri, Vicky Sollis and her husband, John of Lubbock, Texas and Peggy Jones and her husband, Brent of Sulphur, Oklahoma; her two sisters, Savannah McCamish of Muleshoe, Texas and Marie Goforth of Olton, Texas; her brother, Quinton Truelock of Cartersville, Georgia; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
