Ricardo died August 20, 2015 in Muleshoe. He was born May 25, 1925 in Mercedes, Texas to Sylvester and Purificasion (Chavez) Torres.

Ricardo was preceded in death by two sons, Lalo Torres and Ramiro Torres; his parents; and a brother, Pablo Torres.


Survivors include two sons, Ricardo Torres of Muleshoe, Texas and Sylvester Torres of Muleshoe, Texas; five daughters, Julia Prueitt of Waco, Texas, Ignasia Sierra of Muleshoe, Texas, Maria Colina of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Irene Ybarra of Pharr, Texas, and Cecilia Reyna of Amarillo, Texas, two sisters, Christina of California and Lupe of Brownsville, Texas; a brother, Santos Torres of Michigan; 26 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
