Church Service for Burl Dee McCasland, age 88, of Morton, is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Morton with Brother Harrell Harrison of
officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Burl died Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Lubbock. He was born February 15, 1928 in Morton to R.H. and Josephine (Dankworth) McCasland. He married Louise Stalcup in Morton on January 9, 1949.

Burl had lived in the Morton community all of his life. He was a farmer and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morton. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured his time with them playing games, cards and puzzles. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 2012; two sons, Michael McCasland and Brian McCasland; his parents; three brothers, Darwin McCasland, Ira McCasland and R.J. McCasland; and his sister, Era Richardson.

Survivors include his daughter, Ginger Carter and her husband, Bud of Lubbock, Texas; his twin sister, Laura Lee Stalcup of Missouri; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Morton, 202 SE 1st Street, Morton, Texas, 79346.
