Obituary for J.K. Adams

J.K.  Adams
J.K. died October 15, 2014 in Lubbock. He was born February 23, 1917 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to John Henry and Willinda (Smith) Adams. He married Margaret McMillan in Garner, Texas in May 23, 1941.

Background:
J.K. graduated from Texas A&M in 1941. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, with two years being in the Pacific Theater. J.K. was a County Agricultural Agent in Bailey County for 28 years, leading the 4-H Club during that time. He helped many kids with their ag and show projects. He spent the last 35 years as a farmer. J.K. helped bring irrigation agriculture to Bailey County. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Muleshoe. J.K. was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Joyce Marie Adams Beadle; two sisters, Glenna Rodden and Wanda Hamilton; and four brothers, Udell, Jack, James and Dwight Adams.


Survivors:
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, one son, Joseph Adams and his wife, Gail of Houston, Texas; a sister, Adele Shoots of Georgia; two brothers, William Odell Adams of San Angelo, Texas and Kenneth P. Adams of Fredricksburg, Texas; three grandchildren, Kathryn Carlson, Anna Sirotek and Jessica Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Carlson and Emma Grace Carlson.
