Kirk Lewis '82

J.K. Adams was my first County Agent and set my impression of what that was. The mutual respect and concern for each other that he and my daddy, Leon Lewis, had was a great example and inspiration for me. Long discussions on the turnrow were followed by working together to establish demonstration plots and harvest the same. I was introduced to livestock shows and animal husbandry through his efforts. As a result of my 4-H animal projects, I received a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship that allowed me to attend Texas A&M University, become an Agricultural Extension Agent with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, meet my first wife and have my first son. Since, I have returned to farming, remarried, adopted two more wonderful children, had grandchildren and enjoyed a life tied to agriculture. Thanks Mr. Adams.
