Singing

One of my favorite memories as a child was watching and listening to Duane singing with the quartet he performed with at the Fourth of July celebrations at Muleshoe.  I was so proud of him and would brag - that's my uncle.  He loved singing and especially had fond memories of singing with the group performing in many places.

One of my last and fond memories of Uncle Duane was a visit we made with him in the hospital.  It was so touching as Uncle Duane sang to us one of his favorite songs.  He told us that it was a song that when he woke from sleeping, the words and melody were on his mind.  "In my Father's House are many mansions.  If it were not so, he would not have told me so."  He sang another song calld  "God on the Mountain".  We enjoyed hearing him sing from his hospital bed and were uplifted by his great faith and love for the Lord.  He was truly ready to see his Father in Heaven!

I know it has been so hard to see him suffer and that the family has been through so much.  Our hope is that you'll know that God is with you and will help you through this time of grieving as well.  Your Dad was a great man, a great husband to Aunt Loretta and a great father and grandfather.

Our love to all of you,

Larry and Maudie
