The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Kemp can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

I was sorry to hear of James passing. Many years ago in 1967 James did something that made me a believer in prayer. I was working for James and Jack that summer after my second year in college. James and I had been working on a job near Dimmitt. We were on the way back to Muleshoe when we encountered a severe thunder storm. Suddenly we discovered we were in water rushing over the road and the back of the pickup truck started to float. James said a quick, brief prayer " Dear Lord please help us" Almost immediately the truck got traction and we got out of the flooded roadway. I believe it was that prayer that saved us that night. I will always remember James Kemp as a good and faithful Christian.
