Kindness

James always made sure I didn't exert myself too much when I walked up the hill to breakfast during our 45th and 50th class reunions. After the 45th breakfast, he stayed behind (when the rest of the class left to tour the high school) and visited with me. After the 50th, he walked me through the garage so I didn't have to navigate the steps at the front of the house. On both occasions, he reminded me of what a good businessman Daddy (James Crane) was. I still remember James's signature on invoices from those early years of farming. He always treated people he encountered with kindness!
